Security Glass

September 7th, 2011 by admin

The term security is applied to glazing which is also able to withstand deliberate attack of various kinds. These units will usually incorporate one or both panes to be laminated.

Laminated glass consists of two pieces of glass held together by a plastic interlayer often referred to as a PVB interlayer. If fractured, the glass is held together by the interlayer.

Clearline produce toughened glass which is continuously tested to the new European standard EN12600. If fractured, the glass will fall from the frame in small harmless particles.

The fact that we can manufacture the toughened glass units entirely in-house means that we can keep prices low and deliver fantastic value for money.

Clearline’s toughened glass can incorporate numerous high-performance coatings and/or decorative features, meaning that we can make glass to meet almost any requirement.

Low ‘E’ Glass

September 7th, 2011 by admin

Clearline supply a comprehensive range of Kite marked triple sealed double glazing units to the new European standard EN1279.

Increasing environmental awareness places more emphasis on ways to save energy in buildings. As standard, Clearline manufacture double glazed units with a low E glass to reduce the amount of heat loss from a property.

Building regulations have been introduced specifying minimum requirements for the energy efficiency of windows.

Heat loss is measured by the thermal transmittance or U value, expressed in w/m²k. In its most basic terms, the lower the U value, the greater the thermal insulation.

Please see the Part ‘L’ Regulations document below for more information.

All units are made from the award winning Guardian range, benefits of this glass over our competitors to name but a few is the increased performance of 1.6 W/M2k instead of 1.7 and the glass has a slightly blue tint giving anything on the other side a slightly whiter appearance (curtains blinds etc).

Energy Rated Windows

September 7th, 2011 by admin

Clearline can proudly announce that they have been accepted as an accredited member of the energy saving endorsement scheme as a manufacturer of energy saving windows and can therefore add energy rated windows with a grade A, B or C to their already extensive range of products.

Global warming, environmental issues, the melting of the icecap and CO² emissions are high on the world’s current agenda and prime news almost every day. We are constantly reminded to cut back our use of energy, use our cars as little as possible, turn off lights whenever we do not need them and to comply with any initiatives that will help alleviate these problems.

Clearline have introduced a range of windows that meet the B.F.R.C. ‘A’, ‘B’ and ‘C’ energy ratings. ‘C’ Rated windows are available in both Rehau Tritec (60mm) and Rehau S706 (70mm) casement systems as well as Rehau S706 (70mm) Tilt & Turn system.

‘C’ rated windows have a ‘U’ value of 1.7w/m²k. ‘A’ and ‘B’ rated windows are available as casement windows manufactured from Rehau S706 (70mm) profile.

Both ‘A’ and ‘B’ rated windows have a ‘U’ value of 1.4w/m²k, with the ‘A’ rating gaining a higher energy index rating.

Apart from doing our bit to help the planet, these windows provide our customers with a unique selling aid when comparing products with competitors.  They are supplied with full B.F.R.C certificates and energy saving logos, giving the final customer visual proof that they are getting windows that will help to benefit the future of our planet and decrease their carbon footprint.
